What an exciting start to the term!
We began the week with a brilliant workshop from Bath Rugby, who taught us some rugby skills and helped us to practice maths skills through our knowledge of rugby. For the rest of the week we were practicing coordinates and translation in maths. We definitely won't get lost in the wilderness! In English we have been working on instruction texts, and have practiced following our instructions around school. We have been learning how to do this using imperative verbs, to create clear instructions. We are also considering what it means to be a boy or a girl due to our funny guided reading book, 'Bills New Frock.'
In Science we have started to think about types of electricity, and the difference between natural and man made electricity. We have realised that it is important in all aspects of our lives.
In R.E we have started to think about types of laws, and this has slotted nicely into our new topic, Crime and Punishment. We started with a bang, tracking down a 'stolen' microscope, using fingerprinting techniques in our own crime scene investigation. We are hot on the trail of the culprit, with several suspects in the frame! We will be using our questioning skills to find out some more clues next week.
