What a busy week we have had in Year 3! We have really got on with our learning and tried really hard.
In Maths this week, we looked at how do use the expanded method in division. This is something that some of us found quite tricky. We went through it all week and by the end, most of us got it which was fantastic to see!
In English, we have started to look at a new book called 'The True Story of the Three Little Pigs.' We had an experience day where we had to hot seat Goldilocks to find out whether she was guilty or innocent and if we thought she had vandalised the property. We have then started our sentence stacking and have come up with some great ideas involving complex sentences, onomatopoeia and inner thoughts.
In Topic we used an Atlas to see where China was located in the world, the countries around it and the continent that it was located in. We were then given a blank map of China and had to label its capital city and rivers. We also created a fact file poster and found out lots of different things about China.
We had our second session of ice skating this week with Robbie and Sam which went really well but we did come away with a few bruises! We also had Lewis and Tom in from the Bath Rugby Academy. Lewis is teaching us how to play tag rugby and Tom is teaching us maths around a rugby theme.
I hope you all have a great weekend!
Miss Smith :)
