What a great week FS2 have had! This week we have continued to learn about transport and have also started to practice for our Nativity.
In our topic we have looked at the transport that they used in the olden days. We looked at penny farthings, horse and carriage and old fashioned trams. We discussed why they were used instead of cars and how difficult it would be to get onto a penny farthing in comparison to bikes today!
In maths we have been looking at recognising our teen numbers and knowing that there is always a 1 at the beginning and that it has 2 digits. We used toy cars to drive them into the right number space.
On Thursday, Mr Lusher came in to see us and was dressed as a WW1 soldier. He bought in lots of different food that they would of eaten and we even got to try on his hats and look at his sword! At the end he read us a story about a dog who helped out in the war. On the Friday it was Remembrance Day. We walked up to the Memorial and took part in the 2 minute silence. When we got back to school we watched the Cbeebies clip of a rabbit caught up in the war and discussed how we felt.
Have a lovely weekend and I will see you on Monday!
Miss Smith :)
