We have had yet another fantastic week in Year 1.
In English this week we have continued to look at how to write short stories. We learnt how to write a beginning, middle and an end and then ended the week by writing our very own stories involving a talking pieces of food!
In Maths this week we have been looking at the different values of coins and notes. We learnt about how we can identify coins by their colour and shape. We also had a look at how to add coins together and work out how much change we would get.
In Topic this week we looked at what Victorian school children had in their lunchboxes in comparison to what we have now. We found out that we have a lot more food in our lunchboxes these days compared to what it used to be like!
In Science we looked at the different groups we would put animals in such as mammals, reptiles and amphibians. We enjoyed figuring out what animals belonged to what group and working as a team.
On Monday it was European Languages day. We chose the country Italy and we got the chance to try olives, cured meats, bread and mozarella. Some of us liked it, some of us weren't too keen. We then went to Year 2 who were doing Greece and we got to try greek yoghurt as well as other delicious food.
I hope you have a lovely weekend and I will see you on Monday!
Miss Smith :)
