WB 19th February 2018

What a fantastic week we have had back after half term. We have all come back with a fantastic attitude to learning and I can not wait to find out what this term has to offer!

In Maths this week, we have been looking at time. We have been looking at telling the time to every 5 minutes, measuring and comparing different times and looking at the difference between AM and PM. We have worked really hard at it, but we are still struggling to tell the time. This could be worked on at home if you have a spare 5 minutes.

In English, we have started a new book called 'Wolves in the Wall.' We have come up with some fantastic complex sentences, used rhetorical questions and looked at similies. My favourite sentence of the week was by Summer. 'The sky was as black as an obsidian black suit.' Amazing ambitious vocabulary being used.

We had a great topic day of the first day back. We looked at how the numbers of penguins are decreasing in Antartica due to Global Warming and the sea's being over fished. We had £60 to spend in a survival shop and we had to work out what we could buy. We looked at different colours being used for different climates and why they are used for them. We then created our own pictures of either the Polar Region or Desert landscape using the correct colours.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend and I look forward to seeing you on Monday.
