We have been so busy in Year 5 this week!
In English, we learnt how to use ambitious vocabulary, particularly focusing on synonyms. To practise, we wrote descriptions about The Cyclops and also practised expanding our nouns to make our writing more interesting. As well as this, we used clay to make models of our very own Mythical Beasts.
In Maths, we learnt how to find equivalent fractions using our multiplication and division skills to help us find common denominators.
In Topic, we learnt about Anglo-Saxon jobs and created job adverts for them. Then we learnt about life on an Anglo-Saxon village.
During Science, we used books, fact sheets and the internet to research the planets in our solar system. We created posters to display the information we found.
On Friday, we remembered all of the people who suffered during the Holocaust. From this we wrote emotive poems.
