Penhill Site

Welcome to Chiseldon Primary and Nursery School: Penhill Site.

Here at Penhill, we foster the children's interests in learning through a free flow environment.

This involves observation of the children through play then teaching skills based on these experiences.

Each term, the children will also learn about a topic. For example:

Term 1: The Three Little Pigs

Term 2: Stick Man

Term 3: Dinosaurs

Term 4: Transport

Term 5: In the Deep, Dark Jungle

Term 6: The Seaside

Welcome Back!

I hope you had a relaxing half term?

This will be the last term at Penhill Nursery for some of you and we have a lot of fun things planned to send you off to big school with a bang.

Our theme this term is the seaside.

We will be discovering what happens at the seaside in our country and around the world both now and in the past.

We will be learning about poetry through 'Commotion in the Ocean' and sequencing stories using 'Barry the fish with Fingers'.

The children will be working hard to get fit for out end of term sports day (date to be arranged) and honing their cooking skills to create the perfect seaside picnic.

We are also hoping to take the children to the seaside. In order to do this, all 2 year olds will have to be accompanied by a parent. There will be a sign up sheet available from Monday 5th June.

Our Classroom

We will be looking at how we learn by following the Early Years requirements for individual characteristics of learning.

This means that we will be showing how we play and explore and what we learn from all aspects of this, be active in our learning by being involved and concentrating and creating and thinking critically by having our own ideas.Children's learning is documented in their Learning Journey, which can be sent home via an email, on request.
